Thimphu Tshechu

The Thimphu Tshechu is one of the most significant religious festivals in Bhutan, celebrated annually in the capital city of Thimphu. Tshechus are traditional Bhutanese festivals held in various parts of the country to commemorate the deeds of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the saint who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century.
